Educational/Job Training

Job Apprenticeships

Job Apprenticeship is a training strategy that provides supervised, structured on-the-job training by employers in our local community.  Most of the job apprenticeships can be completed in 6-12 months and provides the graduate with a letter of recommendation from the business concerning the trade that the participant has trained in to send out with her resume to possible employers, as well as a positive reference from the business concerning her trade.

Current List of Registered Job Apprenticeships:
  • Dental Assistant
  • Assistant Real Estate Broker & Property Management
  • Funeral Home Director & Embalmer
  • Optician
  • Dog Groomer
  • Florist
  • Building & Grounds
  • Painting
  • Housing & Dining
  • Retail store office management/marketing

Educational Opportunities
The Homestead will provide clientele with opportunities to obtain a GED, secondary education, and specialized educational training from institutions in the Flint Hills.
