Become a Homestead Chapter through a partnership with Homestead
The Homestead as One Solution Homestead Ministries Inc. (HMI) has been in operation since July of 2012. For the first five years we have operated in a group, transitional home model, with much success. However, the costs and responsibility of running the Group Home Model is much greater in comparison to the Host Home Model, however both focus on preparing, equipping, and empowering the community to step into the transformational process of human sex trafficking victims. This will be accomplished through HMI establishing a Homestead Ministry team, with both models, in the participating community who will be trained to provide holistic care for a survivor. Another exciting partnership will occur between the participating local team and the professionals in their local community. No longer do lay people have to be relatively hands off in combating the atrocity of human sex trafficking. This partnership with Homestead makes it affordable and feasible for laity to do the work of this ministry primarily by housing a survivor with a host family or beginning a group home in the local community. Fighting social injustices is not the government’s responsibility, but the passionate laity’s privilege and calling. HMI believes that God’s people are the hope of the world and that Jesus Christ is the transformer of lives.
Description of Partnership Homestead Ministries, Inc.(HMI) will assist God’s people in developing effective programming for adult, female survivors exiting human sex trafficking and will assist in providing long-term, holistic, trauma and substance abuse trained professional services. This will be accomplished through the selection of a local Homestead ministry team in the partnering community who will secure free housing, food, and wrap around-holistic services, walking alongside each survivor for approximately one year. HMI will screen and provide the survivor, as well as, screen, train, and coach the Host Family or House Manager (group home) and the selected Homestead ministry team with-in the partnering community. HMI will also assist in securing the outsourced, professional services needed for the survivor in the community, along with weekly support group and the bi-monthly life skills training. HMI will coach the partnering group in the survivor’s graduation from the Homestead Program and in the aftercare of the graduated survivor.
Objectives To empower and equip the partnering group to reach and teach adult, female, human sex trafficking survivors with the wrap around services needed. “ To prepare God’s people for the works of service.” Ephesians 4:12
