HISTORY
The Homestead was birthed locally out of Westview Community Church, but with expansion, has become a separate 501c3 ministry. After praying about ministering to women in the sex industry for almost two years, Westview’s Women’s Ministry was blessed with a financial gift on July 5, 2011, and a home to launch a ministry to women who have exited the sex industry on September 14, 2011. A local furniture store donated the large furniture items on October 21, 2011. After that point, we experienced an avalanche of generosity from individuals and businesses to get the Homestead up and running. FOUNDING PRINCIPLES The Homestead offers a voluntary, long-term, faith-based transitory care program based on Christian principles of integrity, safety, love and health. The essence of Homestead is to bring people together, in cooperation and partnership, God's people and the needed professional services, BOTH being indispensable agents in the healing and recovery process of a life ravaged by human sex trafficking. |
